用途：用作抗過敏藥
用途：該品抗組織胺作用超過苯海拉明和異丙嗪，用量小，副作用輕。用于蕁麻疹、血管舒張性鼻炎、感冒、哮喘、鼻炎、接觸性皮炎，也用于藥物和食物等引起的過敏癥、蟲咬及暈動等。
用途：抗組織胺藥。與氯屈米通相類似，溴苯吡胺也中抗組織胺藥。溴苯吡胺的生產方法也與氯屈米通相類似，只不過將起始原料用溴苯化合物代替。

生產方法：由2-對氯芐基吡啶經兩步縮合而得。在干燥的反應鍋內，加入氨鈉、無水甲苯，加熱至回流，將2-對氯芐基吡啶和溴代乙醛縮二乙醇同時滴入。加畢，回流反應8h。冷卻靜置，取甲苯液，固體物用少量水溶解后以甲苯提取。將提取液與甲苯液合并，水洗至中性，回收甲苯，得3-對氯苯-3-（2-吡啶基）-丙醛縮二乙醇。將其與DMF混勻加入反應鍋，攪拌下加入甲酸與水的混合液。加熱至110-120℃反應2h，150-160℃反應3h。冷卻，減壓回收DMF，加熱水稀釋，用堿液調至pH14。然后用甲苯提取，用水洗提取液至中性，回收甲苯后減壓蒸餾，收集150-190℃餾分，得氯屈米通。
